Battery problem?
Hello, Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. This spring, it seems my "04" xl1200c turns over a bit slower than in the past, especially when hot. After a short stop while riding it will not turn over 1 rev. the 2nd try it starts. It was on a battery tender all winter, just performed service( oil, plugs, filters, chain adj.).Did a load test on it- seemed ok. Any suggestions?

How old is the battery? Max battery life is about 2 years so if that's the case replace it. Part of the problem is the lights ( headlight, tail light etc.) draw close to 8 amps from your 20AH battery as soon as you turn the ignition switch on. It doesn't leave much for the starter especially it the motor is hot.
Happens to me all the time. Normally, it wont turn the first try, just let go, try again, and good to go.
I find that if I crack the throttle a tiny bit, it cranks easier. I have the extra lights, so that does not help.
