The point it makes is you wouldn't go to your bank and just post cash through the letter box if it were closed. If you try to make a call on your phone and it says no signal do you just enter the number and talk to no-one?
The server at V&H was not contactable and the user carried on.
I see the benefits and read the benefits of having a PV.
I would dearly like to try the PV as I have two bikes here and could make a saving if I were in America.
That may sound far fetched to you
I have an open mind. Me personally I have no desire to modify the engine itself.

I have no dog in this fight, but another option (my preference) is Mastertune.
Maybe I'm a glutten for punishment, but I like it. Does take some time
to learn what it can do, however it doesn't have a fancy wideband
"plug & play" option like the PV. Yes I know about the Green box,
but its not the same as the PV's WideBand AutoTune kit...
I have the dual-bike "blue" box, use it for my Softail FLS and
my Hammer 1250 Iron.
So many people buy the V&H because they think thats all they will ever need, then discover a bit of power increase and then want more. They go deeper and deeper till they find out the V&H will not take them were they now want to go. They end up purchasing a Power vision. Where if they had bought it in the first place they wouldn't be out the extra money. Aaron at Hammer Performance probably sees this many times a day.
For those of you who have been following my post, you know that I had to bring my bike in for service because of a high idle issue. The dealership ruled out a defective iac and intake leak. They told me that the reason my bike was idling extremely high was because the ecm was bad. They are saying the reason the ecm went out was because of the fuelpak fp3. I called Vance and Hines and asked them if they have ever heard of this happening and they said "never." I was wondering if any of you heard of this happening?
Btw, Harley is going to warranty my bike, but they said if it happens again, the wont warranty it. They suggested that I go with the HD stage 1 download. I'm having doubts about the download because some of you have said the bike runs like ****. I have the Vance and Hines short shots with a big sucker intake.
Your input is GREATLY appreciated!
I purchased a vance and hines FP3 installed it and my bike will not run at all. I took it to the mechanic and he said that my ECM has to be replaced. I am yet to see what vance and hines has to say about this.
Kindly read above posts by Andy - did you persist despite the FP3 having internet issues?
been using the FP3 for 3 years now with several times it being permanently installed on the bike as an obd tool and ancillary readout. No issues ! The FP3 has limitations- did you operate outside the envelope??
Without going over the ground covered by previous posters. Me and quite a lot of people have successfully hooked up a FP3 and used it to apply a canned map. The device works for its purpose.
I am going to have to say there is possibly an element of user error here.
Where in the process did it go wrong?
What are you left with, does the bike power up and fire up?
Did you have a break in internet connection? Did you follow exactly the instructions given in the app? Did you see it read the data from the bike and put it in map 0?
Give us the whole story.
ETA: Any electronic device can fail even a power vision. All electronics can suffer from infant mortality.
