Default smaller battery?

a while ago i remember reading a thread, which i couldn't find after a search, that some people have replaced their battery with a smaller but equal powered battery made by... someone?

Anyone knows who makes this smaller sized but same powered battery that would go into my 2008 sportster 1200xlc?

I want to create room for some of the wires I have cramped up in the battery space. thanks.

Any of the lithium Ion batteries are going to be at least 1/3 the size and weigh much less with more power behind them. Check out Antigravity Batteries costs more but better and longer warranty & life span.

Shorai, Earth X, Antigravity, and Battery Tender all sell various sizes and power ratings of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. I have a Shorai on my 1991 that is the same stock size (exposed battery tray) but weighs 4 pounds versus almost 14 pounds for my old lead/acid. Bike instantly fires up, every time!!!! And it takes a lot of stress off my battery tray/oil tank mounts.

Find a battery site and look up the one you have now and check the specs the CCA rating is what your after. Then select a lithium brand and do the same , helps to have the size measurements off the original so you can compare to get what you are after with the extra space needed.

Something like this ? :

No affiliation and don't have one myself. But, please, Google reviews of these types of batteries. They are mixed, some have had issues, some are really happy with them.

I just purchased a small lithium battery with CCA 480 - Antigravity 16 cell AG-1601. It is L4 1/2" W3" H5 1/4" (with terminal bolts). For comparison purposes, you save about 1 1/2" in Length and about 1/2" in width versus oem size battery. It is also a lot lighter than the OEM battery. Also purchased a lithium battery charger/tender.

Buy the 16 cell Antigravity and get it from DK Customs. Their support is second to none.

I originally bought the 12 cell a while back. I had trouble with it turning over my 1200. Kevin went out of his way to make it right and eventually refunded my money after I installed a standard battery which worked.

Antigravity eventually de-rated the 12 cell to 1100cc.

Fast forward and between the standard battery getting some age and getting tired of tie-wrapping my cover shut because of relocated ECM I decided I wanted to give LiFePO4 batteries another try.

This 16 cell battery is great. There is not a hint of the starter struggling at TDC and, while a tight fit, the ECM fits inside the bracket with the battery and the cover closes and latches great.
