Default Did I lose a front wheel spacer?

Last night I changed my front tire. While putting the wheel back on I am wondering if it looks like I might be missing a spacer on the right side of my bike... I'm not worried about the gap between my fork and wheel bearing; I understand that's intended. What irks me is that my axle seems to be too far into the wheel/fork. As you can see, the hole in the axle is partially obscured by the fork. I'm guessing there is supposed to be something between the axle shoulder and the bearing on the right side? The axle shoulder buts up right agains the piece of metal you see that is near-flush with the surface of the seal (the black ring you see is grease).

Or does this look normal?

THANKS!
Adam

Definitely looks like you are missing a spacer between the hub and lower fork leg.

I was missing a small spacer that went on the right side. The hole in the axel should be flush with the outer edge of the fork. There will, however, remain a space between said spacer and the inner edge of the fork.

All good, back on the road
