Welcome, and if you're only changing the pipes nothing else is necessary. If you change the A/C you will need to rejet.

I have an 04 1200 custom that I put the SE slip-ons on and went to the free flow air cleaner and had it re-jetted.The dealership told me if I had them do the install they would still keep my warranty valid(shout out to Marietta Cycle Center)I was pleased with the results and the bike starts very easily. On a restart it will fire up without hardly turning over.I am wanting to upgrade to a little louder pipe now that my warranty is expired and was told by my dealer that since I have already done the air and rejet I WON'T have to do anything but bolt on the new pipes.I hope this helps you.good riding to you and yours.

Welcome mykald! and Congrats on the sporty. I have an '07 Nightster that I put the SE slip ons on. They are great and you do not need to do anything else, unless you do the stage1 air filter, then you would need to remap, but SE slip ons alone you do not need to do anything.

Welcome. I just picked up my new Nightster last weekend and I think I am going to leave my exhaust stock (for the time being). I changed out my old bike's exhaust (went to V&H Big Shots on it) and it was so dang loud that I had every neighbor giving me the stink eye as I rode by, along with little old ladies freaking out every time I pulled alongside their cars! LOL...kind of funny when I look back on it, but I am going to leave this baby stock for the time being and see how it goes....just my 0.02.

mykald - Welcome. If you only want to change the exhaust right now you can. Exhaust only is ok. Intake and rejet only is ok. Intake, exhaust, and rejet together is most preferred. Any other combination might give you some air/fuel mixture and drivability problems.

For now, yes, you can go with slip-ons and nothing else. I have CS slip-ons and love them. Great sound and performance at a good price. Many others really like VH. Slightly more expensive but I hear similar testimonials about their sound and performance.

Post pics soon.

By the way...I'm s
taring at this picture and trying to figure out why it looks like they included 2 sets of breather bolts. Anyone know?
