Tranny question
Every once in a while when I am out riding, I tend to shift fast between gears and sometimes I don't let enough clutch time when shifting I notice that between 4th and 5th gears I find neutral but then shift again to 5th and all is well. Should this be a cause for concern or do I just need to slow down on the shifts? 2001 Sportster XLH883 11K miles on the odo.

A good solid effort on the shifter usually helps. Mine will skip out between 2nd and 3rd if I soft toe the shifter, especially with sneakers.

Because of how the gears are set up, you can get a false neutral during the 4th-5th shift if conditions are just right and the 1st gear mainshaft doesn't mesh properly. Just make sure you give it enough force to shift properly, and if clutchless shifting to preload the lever enough.
