Default Looking to change Frames

I have a 2007 Nightster Sportster 1200cc and I am interested in changing up my Frame design. I was curious as to how interchangeable my parts are to a new Frame, and how many new parts would I need to purchase. Not really sure what style frame I want to switch to, but if someone could point me in a good direction that will help.

Cool

I should imagine that it all depends on what you fancy going to. If you stick to a similar age HD frame, I would guess that quite a few parts that would be interchangeable.
If you went rigid, depending on what specs you'd want, then an amount of stock parts could be changed over. In this case, you'd talk to your vendor, telling them that you'd want to use as many stock parts as poss. You may just want to get a hard tail just welded onto what you've already got.
These are just a few basic ideas, but you see what I mean about knowing which direction that you want to go. I would think that the cheapest option would be the weld on hard tail.
If you're not sure, talk to people or businesses that do this sort of work/sell frames.
Up to you brother,

TD
I've just noticed that you're a Florida dude, you may want to raise the point in that region coz some locals might be able to point you in the right direction for your area.

Hi John and welcome to HDF. Come on - tell us what you have in mind! Why do you want to change frame? If you have in mind a custom frame such as a sold rear end, then take a look at custom frame suppliers. The number of parts involved depends entirely on what end result you want. At the extreme it could be simpler to buy a secondhand engine and start from there.
