Is there anything I should check out after hitting a HUGE pothole, besides the tires/wheels?
I was coming home from work last night really late and was riding a little faster than my headlight allowed me to see and react, and KA-BLAM! by the time I was saying "holy ****", I was already a ways down the road from it. I just kept going and checked the wheels and tires when I got home. They look fine - no cuts or gouges in the tires, and the wheels have no dings in them. The tires also have not lost any pressure. The bike is running fine today - doesn't feel or sound any different. The ride is still smooth, so I don't think it mashed my wheel out of round or something...
Just wondering if you guys can think of anything else you would check. Thanks!
I feel ya brotha. I did the same thing, but mine was in the middle of a turn, and didnt see it till the last second. Hit it pretty hard. Thought I tore the front end off, but it actually held up great. I have the laced front wheel, and it is still true.
I put mine up on the jack, and checked the front wheelto see if it was out of true, but it looked fine. Check the front end all over but nothing seemed to be effected. Thye are tougher than I thought! that was about 8000 miles ago. No wobbles, shakes, etc.....
