I had both tires replaced from the dealer. I noticed after they replaced the tires, there's not a single adhesive balancing weights on both of the alluminum alloy wheels. Aren't they suppose to balance the wheels or is it possible that both wheels are perfectly balanced after the replacement of the tires?
Mine came fron the dealer with no weights either. So whats the deal?
I know when I get my Chromed rims mounted I will have them balanced.
HD does have some chrome balance weights
But thats a good question. I would not think any wheel and tire combo would be perfectly balanced.

OH....you wanted them balanced? Shucks you shoulda said somethin'[:-]
If the bike rides the same as before, I wouldn't worry. I had wheel weights pasted all over my rims from the dealer when I changed rims. The next time I needed tires I did it myself. Took the wheel to get them balanced, but the machine wasn't working. Didnt want to wait so I left and mounted them. I didn't notice any difference in the ride, so I never got them balanced.
I have all my wheels balanced on a truing stand so they are 100% balanced. It's important when you want to go fast that the wheels are true. Last thing I want is a high speed wobble.
I do all my own mounting and balancing and I have occasionally seen a wheel and tire combination balance perfectly with no weights, but it's unusual, and it's never happened on a front and rear pair (I've done at least a hundred BMW wheels, but only one H-D wheel.) I'd say they didn't balance them.
It does matter, and they should be balanced, for wear reasons if no other. If it doesn't shake at 80+ mph, then maybe they're close enough . . .

I do my own mounting & balancing. To get the minimum amount of weight needed you first check the balance of the wheel without the tire. Mark the heavy spot on the wheel & mount the tire according to that. Usually that will result in very few weights, & every so often no weights on a wheel. The chance of that happening on both wheels at the same time are damn near impossible. Chances are they didn't even bother to balance either of 'em. Another reason I do my own...............
