Was hoping somebody here is experienced enough to visually ID a set of fork sliders I found on Fleabay. As you can see in the add, seller doesn't seem to know for sure, and I have received no response when I ask him for a part number. I was hoping these might fit my 06 XL883. Any advice/tips/suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanx in advance!!
Those pictured are for 39mm tubes and 3/4" axle. They will fit 2000-2007 sportsters and 2000-2003 Dynas (except FXDWG "wideglide").
There is also a slightly varied version to those, which looks the same, but is for a 1" and 25mm axle (2008-later Sportster and 2004-2005 Dyna (except FXDWG))

In the interest of a free education, can you offer a quick explanation of how you made that determination? Thanx for the info, deeply appreciated.

Well...just good 'ol detective work
Really, when you're familiar with something, the features become obvious, not so much when your just learning the differences.
First you have notice there is a difference and then what does that mean. Some differences are subtle and not easily noticed.
But things to look for are visual sizing proportions, caliper mount style, fender mount style, with or without dust boot provisions, axle securing styles...they are all clues
But I'm always learning. No one knows it all...but you can try to know a lot

Have not bid yet. My first impression is that is a pretty good deal, but I'm trying to research and make a smart buying decision. You appear quite knowledgable on forks, have an opinion on the price?
Right now, I think it's a good price, but who knows what they will go for and what GOOD CONDITION, FEW SCRATCHES really means. The closer it gets to these prices http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-Chrom...pWBQWK&vxp=mtr
then not so good of deal
Btw, that's not for your bike, those are for 1" axles.
That Ad is a good example of visual differences...those pictures are not of the same sliders. Some are for 3/4" axles and others are for 1"
Can you see the difference in size of the big hole between the pictures?
