Jump starters
A friend recommended, as I think I will face a flat battery (again)...
and taking it out from bike, taking it home, charging, and then mounting back is a lot of work.
Can I avoid all that hassle with a XP5 or similar ? Interested in this XP 5 due to its small size.
Would be so handy to carry around, charge other things while on the road, and jump start too if and when the need comes?
Or is there any reason why this would't work with MC's/Harleys ?
Any real danger in using this or similar to jump start my Sporster ?

My only complaint is that the accessory harness is a bit on the short side but works ok.

I also carry an antigravity XP-1....it charges devices but not a charger for your battery.

Jumped cars with the XP-1 but have not had the opportunity to jump a motorcycle yet..but don't see a problem with that if it can jump cars. It claims to be able to jump trucks/cars/motorcycles many times over. I use a lithium battery tender to charge the battery if needed...but the battery is supposed to retain the charge for at 1 least a year if there are no parasitic draws. I have draws i.e. smart alarm, smart siren, etc. and I have not charged the battery yet....still starts right up.

I would suggest that when you prepare it for storage at the end of next season you remove the battery and place it on a trickle charger (Battery Tender - I picked up Lowe's version for about $21) for the winter and when you are ready to ride at the beginning of the next season you are all set after a quick install.
Batteries are at least $100 and letting it sit in the cold each off season will reduce it's durability and reliability significantly. It's worth the hassle unless you have money to throw away.

it was still pricey but i think it was 130 on ebay.

Sometimes I have seen my bike covered in snow, after a windy day. That's how open it is. But has a roof to cover the bike and is relatively safe, which is also important.
Anyways, I can't use a charger there, no outlets available. And don't like to bring the battery to my home either, wife would go nuts...
Last winter the battery got flat too, mainly because it was a cold and long winter. Hoping this year the winter to be shorter, hopefully giving me a chance to drive a bit every now and then to keep it charged while in bike.
Just wanted to know if that kind of jump starter would work easily, IF it goes flat again. As I can use that jump starter to many other uses too.
Seems so handy to have, the size vs the power of it, to power up cellphones, GPS, I pads etc while on the road and giving a jump start too if and when needed. And they are not that expensive anymore.
