So I have fuel that is leaking from the bottom part of the engine, it looks as though it is stemming from an aftermarket fuel filter of some sort. I took it to Harley and the dude said he has never in his 20 years seen anything like it and wouldn't be comfortable fixing it. Anyone have any clue on how to fix this issue? I am attaching pictures as well. Its a 1994 sportster.
Fuel is leakimg from the little round thing in the middle.
You can see where the fuel is pooling up. That is from 4 or so hours of sitting.
No big deal, you can take it apart and go to a auto parts store and see if you can get a oring for the top and a small gasket for the bottom,or just get a small inline filter and replace it,how old was the mechanic 12

These two photos show that the line to the right is wet, which suggests that the leak is on the other end of that line, not at the water trap (or whatever the little round thing is).
Yep ... I agree with John ... Sure looks like the lines are ( could be ) the problem. Replace the lines and reseal the filter ( no big deal ) or better yet put a new one in and you should be good to go
Your petcock should have a filter screen inside the tank. Why not just get some new fuel line and eliminate that bowl entirely. I've read that adding an inline filter actually hurts fuel flow. It is a gravity fed system, not pumped. FLush out your gas tank, take out the petcock and see if the screen is still intact.
