strange clutch issue
When I got my bike out from winter storage, I checked air pressure, gave it look over and went for a ride around the block. Clutch was slipping - 3rd gear, engine revved up, but bike didn't accelerate at the same rate. Had a lot of slack in the cable - had 1/2" exposed cable. Friction zone was 1/2 way of the clutch lever travel.
Started it up today, and the slack is gone, and the clutch friction zone is where it should be - -around 3/4 out of the clutch levers travel, and the lever springs tight to the released position. No slip, seems normal. Every once in a while, it will go back to where the friction zone is at the 1/2 travel/lever loose deal.
I would think if I had a bad cable, the friction zone would stay in the same place?
Something in the release mechanism at the clutch?
