16X3.5 Rear 52 Fat Spoke with Metzeler 150/80/16 Tire - no modification except for spacing. I also relocated my rear caliper to accept a larger rotor which needed a different width spacer on the left side. Sorry can't remember more details, but I have a thread on this somewhere.
No challenges. May need to play with spacers but not a big issue...just be sure to align rotor and caliper. Used stock sized tire so I did not run into clearance issues. Keep in mind that it is the rim that is 3.5" not the hub....so as long as you use stock sized tires and the wheel is made for your bike, you should be okay. If you have doubts, ask the supplier.
oh and a word of caution...when using fat spoke wheels or any kind of spoke wheels, always use tube regardless of whether it is tubeless application....mine tire went flat overnight.
