In my head there's a way for some kind of "floating" pillion pad that hangs over the back wheel. God knows how I'd get that to reality, and, like you said, without some serious fabrication
There are older bikes, such as Vincents, that have a rear 'flying' sub-frame. Not pretty, but you get the idea!
That's pretty close to what I was thinking, I like how it's hanging over the back. Lil bit square for my liking, but that definitely makes things make more sense!

It's the concept that matters. The Rocker is another, although that thing that passes for a passenger pad is too minimalist to my mind. More Harley-like, it must be admitted, so perhaps with a little imagination.....
The test I always apply to bike mods, especially involving a passenger, is to ask: would you be prepared to be taken for a ride while sitting back there?!
That's probably the coolest thing I've ever seen! There's a pretty good fabricator down near me, I'm definitely showing him this video on the weekend, see what he can do with it!
I know it's a bit off topic, but what do you think the widest rear tire I could get on the 883 would be? This is all making the rear end make sense to me now, it's all coming together! Thanks for all the help guys
