Aquired a nice little sportster that had been sitting for over a decade....Got it running now and notice some clutch slippage.
Should i buy the after market pressure plate w 30 % more pressure or is the upgrade to the multi spring extra plate kit available?
Thanks for any info......Also i need a heat shield for the front 1 and 3/4 drag pipe...I find plenty of rear ones but no front.....Thanks all....
I believe the 883 and 1200 diaphragm springs are the same until perhaps 2004. I have a 1991, so our clutch baskets are different, but the design is probably very similar. Hammer Performance probably can set you up if you want a stronger spring.
If your bike is close to stock there should be no need to install tuning parts, such as a stronger spring. Have you removed the clutch plates and cleaned and checked everything? Adjusted your clutch as per the book? Could be something very simple!
