if you don't run too lean you will be ok with just pipes. i have never known anyone that made any changes to the pipes or air cleaner that did not require at least a change in the mixture though. i would suggest that you watch your plugs and let that decide. my bike was very lean from the factory and i had to finish stage 1 asap. if money is an issue, i am sureyou know that the K&N filter($45.00) in the stock air cleaner will get you there with a re jet. i used a local indy and spent $75.00 for him to put in a 45 jet and make the idle and mixture adjustments. i wussed out on messing with the carb yet. like a different bike since. honestly, if i could have gotten away with just pipes i wouldhave.the bike can perform farbeyond my skills at this time.
