Default fender chop help

hey all !!!! need your help here!!! i have a 2013 iron 883

I'm aware that theres 100s of threads relating to chopped fenders....

i want to chop the fender- your average half cut the struts , and fender ..

my question for you is ......how do i do this with out aftermarket suspension or rigid struts...i know i can make new mounting holes etc in the fender ...but i can't just cut ,its be too high ! i don't need to skim the tire , but stock height is way way too much , any one know of any threads with the stock suspension with a fender chop ?

I'm running a 48 solo seat if you need to know haha

Not sure that your question is overly clear. Are you asking how to lower the rear fender? You for the most part answered in your question by drilling new holes higher. You'd have to get some kind of spacer to put between the fender and seat where that bolt is. I just chopped mine but I put nightster shocks on mine and lowered it. Seems you are going to have to do one or the other.

Just a guess here because I didn't go the route of lowering the fender. I would probably put the spacer under the seat first before drill I go the holes in the fender up higher. My guess is because of the angle that the seat boot would be on it will probably push the fender back just slightly and not make the bolt holes on the side exactly straight up. Once your space is in you could line your bolt holes exactly up

This spacer is part of the info ive been missing any pics ?

Ive read that nightster and 48 suspension is 1 inch lower , so im guessing this will be my best option if i can find a set haha

Would love to see the spacer you placed there aswell as ur ride ! Will try get a pic up now

I didn't go the route of lowering the fender so I didn't use a spacer. I know you can buy some spacers at lowes or probably just about any hardware store. You will probably just have to experiment with a few different sizes to see what works. I bought my nightster shocks from a forum member here. But you can buy 10.5" shocks off eBay any time. The progressive shocks run about $240 on there if I remember right.
