Default 1st Accident

Hello all, i was in an accident two nights ago, where i was in a turn lane, turning left with my blinker on at night. And i come to a stop and a car traveling about 25mph piles into the back of me, throws me off my bike and lane on my left side, scratching me up pretty bad but, no broken bones and i didn't hit my head. I was very thankful and very lucky there were no on coming traffic. I was curoius if you all are able to guess an estimate of the amount of damage that would been done to my bike. Im just curoius on some numbers is all. Its an 05 883C. This is a list of only the items i know for sure that are broke. Rear tire, rear fender, crash gueard, brake peg, shifter peg, both feet pegs, brake and clutch levers. Including parts, paint, and labor i think about 3k. Any idea's? Thanks for your time.

Man, glad you're all right!

About the bike, I'd be concerned about the frame - make sure that gets checked out!

Cell phone or turned around to talk to passengers in the rear... but most probably... they had their head up their A$$...

I would say check out the swing arm... seems odd it wouldn't have got bent...

As far as price... I wouldn't have a clue...

Just goes to show some people shouldn't have a license for anything, like saltlick said how did they not see you?

Who knows really what could be wrong. Swing arm would be an easy target from a rear impact. You never can be sure. My cousin had a sporty that was wrecked, the frame was a little bent, well when he started unbolting every thing to pull the engine the rear motor mounts broke off. It was bent more that he thought all that stuff bolted on held it straighter. At least you escape with mild injuries.

Atleast you are ok. It doesn't take much to total out a bike, I 2x the frame needing to be looked at.

Thank God you are ok! That is really scary! I am sorry about your bike too. What a drag. I hope that the dealer goes faster at getting you an estimate and gettingthe work done on itthan they are with mine. I am going on the second week, and just got my estimate last Thurs. The only thing that was on my list that was on yours also was Clutch lever bracket 42.49 and clutch lever assy. 40.99, and foot peg assembly 44.49, shifter lever assy 82.49. I know that doesn't help much, but I was pretty surprised how much some of those little things really cost. My damage came to $1,500. And I really didn't think that I had done that much to it. Good luck to you. I am glad that you weren't seriously hurt. Bikescan be replaced. You can't.

Damn that sucks. I'm glad you didn't get hurt. I have no idea how much all that would cost either.

Glad you're pretty much OK my friend.

I posted recently about practically the same thing happening to my buddy. He's got an '06 1200R. They've done the initial appraisal, and a check is supposed to be in the mail. After that, its going to the dealer to see what the real damage is. I'll keep everyone posted.
