Bought my wife a sporty a '99 883 and the clutch is pretty hard to pull even for me, does anybody have any experience with the reduced pull system that goes on the lever? My wife is wanting to learn to ride but the clutch is to hard for her to use. It is such a good looking bike that we hate to trade it so we are looking for some help on making her clutch easier to pull. Any suggestions out there.
Those clutches on the 03 and earlier Sporties are pretty tough. In 04 they changed that, and improved the effort needed significantly, I don't know if the current clutch would work on a 99. It might, I don't think much if any has really changed in the tranny since 99.
I put one on my wife's bike and she can almost pull it with one finger now. It made a HUGE difference. The thing I liked about it was that it replaces the ramp and ball bearings as opposed to adding extra parts for leverage.
