The 48 has a wider spread between the forks and the factory brace is the only option. Just order a new one from parts.
I have a 14 XL1200T with the same wide spacing and the only way for me to add a brace is to buy the 48 lower sliders and add the brace. That would be $$$.
I have searched the aftermarket and there is no company that makes a fork brace for anything other than the standard width spacing. The 48 and the T are the Wide Glides of the Sportster world. I think the diameter of the sliders is a few mm more than the others also.
What I did is measure the width of each forks centerline and found that it matched the Dyna. Got a h-D Dyna fork brace and since the diameter of the Sportster is smaller I shimmed it with an aluminum bar stock of the needed thickness and wala a fork brace.
I just bought a used 48 and it's missing the fender/fork brace. There does not seem to be any aftermarket braces out there for this bike which is insane because I see them for everything else. I don't want to go universal because the holes are right there for it.
I think i would look silly to have leave the holes empty and put a brace over it.
