New 2015 Iron 883 owner, hello to all. wondering what is the circular button by the right side, by the seat? I press it, it pops up, but what does it do after that?
I have no owners manual as it was "used" 438 miles on her.

Thanks in advance
Lee

Pop it up, twist, lift, and wipe the oil on the stick with a rag.

Welcome to the forum. As many will suggest....get a service manual and familiarize yourself with your bike.

Lee, welcome and congratulations on buying a great motorcycle. Finding an owners manual is as easy as going on the Harley-Davidson.com website, clicking on the "owners" headline, and then providing you VIN number.

You can and really should read the manual to familiarize yourself with your first Harley.

So, don't worry too much about not having a printed version, you can find an online version in minutes. I personally, would try to find a printed version as well, and would ask your dealer to either give you one, or price one. Ebay may also be a source.

Good luck with the new bike.

You're giving us Carolina boys a bad name. FYI Search is your friend.
I think you can still download an owners manual from here:
https://www.harley-davidson.com/cont...schedules.html

Thats where I downloaded mine.

Hey neighbor. Welcome to the forum.

If you bought your Iron at the dealer, they are obligated to provide you an owners manual for free. As already suggested, the HD website is helpful.

Others have said already what that **** is, but check your oil on the jiffy stand (kickstand). Push in to release (pops up) and twist out and wipe dip stick clean. Twist in and push in and then take dip stick out again to check oil.

Congrats on your Bike.
Reminder, level of oil should be towards the bottom line when cold. Do not fill to the top line.
