Default accessory plug

HElp..... My son bought pod lights for his 1200 C. The dealer said to wire them to the accessory plug, not the battery. Can anyone tell me where I can find this connection?
Thanks

The Sportster doesn't have any accessory plugs. These are items similar to cigarette lighters that you have to buy and install or have installed on your bike.

I don't know which year your son has, John, but I've never come across this "Accessory Plug" on my '04. The owner's manual shows a "Spare fuse 15 amp" in the #6 slot of the fuse box, but I don't know if there's any juice to it or if it's just a blank to hold the spare (I'll have to pull the cover and check it with the volt meter). Your dealer is right though--better to not have stuff that's not fused. You could pick one of those in-line fuse holders at Radio Shack and run it directly to the battery between the lights.

Relay/Fuse Block, to the right of the Starter relay, there are 6 15 amp fuses. The fuse on the top, next to the starter relay is the Accessory fuse. I'm sure what they meant was to connect the wiring for the pod lights to that fuse.

I have no clue if that is a swithed fuse or not, but I suspect it is. So, if he wants to have the lights on while the bike is sitting in a parking lot, or a bike show. I would think you would be better to connect them to the battery. That of course is assuming the lights have their own switch.

I thought I read a post on this somewhere in the forum about how these are to be wired so that when you switch to high beams they turn off.
