Hey guys - I'm looking to pick up a cheap Sportster to mess around with / customize a little bit over the winter and then in the spring possibly use it to teach my son to ride (unless if find a cheap Rebel laying around somewhere). I've found a '92 883 with about 9k miles on it for $2300.
Anyone have any thoughts or guidance on that specific year or model as something to mess with?
Been awhile since I had a sporty, but have wanted to get another one for quite some time to play with....and nows the time.
If I were you I would definitely find a sporty that was still carb'd. Reason being everything is fuel injected these days and if you don't teach hit how to work on a carb'd bike or what one even is he may never learn. I think that would be a great project for you two.
Beyond that how deep are you looking to get into the project? Keep us posted man!
