^true, also it may or may not be admissible in court but doesn't hurt to record the call, make sure to ask whom you are speaking to if taping the call.

I tried but they just say that Dan is busy and he will contact me. I am using email for that very reason. To create a paper trail. They finally got back to me asking more questions about the symptoms and when they occur even though I have already explained this to them several times. I guess I will have to continue playing their game until they have had enough of me.
After some discussion with Zipper's, they have finally agreed to refund my money for the kit. It is a total bummer that this kit did not perform the way it was advertised and that it didn't ever work properly. Once this is all said and done, I am going to be trading for a Roadster and will put the refunded money towards the bike along with whatever I get for trade value on the 48. This will minimize the amount of money I will have to pay to purchase it outright and avoid having to finance. Finally, some light at the end of the tunnel here.

Sounds like Zippers is doing the best they can, and you have "enjoyed" an experience that many of us have in our pursuit of an enhanced machine. Now in my "golden" years, I leave everything stock and am able to enjoy the ride without worry about the machine. It's nice and the breeze on my face feels just as good. Ride safe.

I hear that but had to learn the hard way I guess. I will not be venturing down this road again with the Roadster I pick up. It is just not worth the hassles and headache I have been dealing with. Not to mention the missed riding due to the bike being in the shop more than on the road. Lesson learned!

i strongly urge you to test ride a 2014 or greater street bob, fat bob, low rider, or low rider s. You bought that kit because you wanted power, no sportster is going to give you that without you dropping 2k+. You'll get that power right out of the gate with the 4 models above and solid braking on the latter 3. If cost is a concern 2014 fat bob and low rider are cheap... and if you are willing to get your hands dirty, a 2014+ 103 street bob can be bought and dual disked for around 12k.
You have a lot of options right now. Reliability is probably high on your list of needs but, dont just rush to a roadster. Play the field.

I have test rode the Fat Bob and Street Bob this past summer while my bike was still in the shop. The Fat bobs I rode wanted to lean to the right a lot on their own. Didn't like the way they rode. The Street bob was ok if I wasn't so damn short. I was totally stretched out while riding it and felt really uncomfortable. I need to test ride a Lowrider S still. I do like torque and power, hence the reason I bought this kit in the first place but like the Sportster as well. I will have to look into a Lowrider s but the Roadster is what I want and will probably get. I want to replace my Sportster not get rid of it. Maybe one of these days I will add a Lowrider s to the stable but the Roadster will be the first to go in replacing my 48.
If anything maybe I will just go with a bolt on 1250 kit from Hammer Performance so not much will change and hopefully be much more reliable than the Zipper's kit was, and I have seen that they seem to be producing quite a bit more power than the Zipper's kit ever did. But then again, I don't want to repeat the madness I have been dealing with that is finally coming to an end. I will have to see how all of this goes and what I am offered in trade and I have the refund in hand. This kit alone was over 6k. I know they will probably subtract the machining work that they did and refund the parts only but that will still be around 4K. The machining and thermal coating were added costs to the kit itself. If I can get around 4K in trade, I will only be down around 3K for a new Roadster, and 4K for a used Lowrider S. I will just have to hurry up and wait and see whats available and how the details of this refund and trade unfold.
The dealership that did the work is willing to work with me on this because of all of the heartache this has caused. This will be a big factor in what I am able to get. Also if possible, I would rather get a roadster with almost no miles than to pay the same price or a bit more for a bike with 5000 miles or more. I know it is not much for mileage, but a lot could have happened in that 5000 miles. I would rather not take my chances and get a brand new Roadster that is under warranty.

WOW! So sorry to hear things turned out this way for you... Best of luck getting it resolved.
Stay safe my friend
