I don't see that with the Aliexpress HLXG 5-3/4. The highbeam comes on in addition to the lowbeam on mine.

But, I'm not convinced it is more visible than dual halogens in the daytime. The internal circuitry of the HD Daymaker prevents both hi and lo beam from being on at the same time. I could do that with the HD halogen, and wish I could with the Daymaker,
My daymaker also keeps both beams on during high beams.

Maybe somethings fishy with yours.

that is a direct result of the problem of peoples insistance on calling any led headlight a "daymaker". The hlxg is not the rebranded jw speaker "hd daymaker", it is a 5-3/4 led that LOOKS LIKE A HD DAYMAKER.

some led headlights allow simultaneous high and low , some dont. Most can be tricked via wiring shenanigans. The real hd current version DOES use both simultaneously, stock.

Side by side with a friend that has a daymaker, this is just as bright and goes the distance.
Thanks to you I bought it. I hope you're proud of yourself.

The HD Daymakers are excellent but it is understandable not wanting to spend that kind of money.

The experience I have had with the Knock-offs has been hit or miss. I've used one in a Dyna and others in a Jeep Wrangler. The Fit doesn't compare to the HD brand but I wouldn't consider this an issue. Once installed with retaining ring etc. in place, you can't tell the fit isn't perfect.

Moisture within the lens does tend to accumulate due being poorly sealed. This lead to a white residue on one of the 3 I have had (Dyna)... So I opened it up to attempt to clean the lens and re-seal it. Turns out the manufacturer puts in silica gel packs, similar to what is in new shoes, to combat moisture. Not sure if HD does this with theirs but I doubt it.

IMO if you want to save money on an LED upgrade, simply swapping the incandescent bulb for an LED would be the most plausible choice.

We offer LED H4 Bulbs but they can usually be picked up locally as well.

With that being said, nearly anything is better than stock. Once you go LED you won't go back to incandescent bulbs.

i went the cheap route about 8 months ago. No issues and it’s way brighter. I couldn’t justify paying for a harley one but I also never ride a night so I’m less concerned about failure.

It depends on what you want to do. Aux lights allow you to light up the sides of the road, LED headlight does not. They can also get you home if you lose your headlight at night. However, if aux lights are too bright you cannot run them when there is oncoming traffic.

I've done both. My aux lights are 6000 lumen (each) lights from LEDRider. They turn the 1/4 mile in front of me into daylight and light up anything reflective at over a mile. However I cannot run them with oncoming traffic unless I use a controller to dim them and there really isn't any place on my Sporty for them

https://smile.amazon.com/Wisamic-Pro...headlight&th=1

I've had the Wisamic installed for about 10k miles now through all kinds of weather situations. Works great and fit easily (albeit a tight fit) even in my 02 headlight bucket. The only thing it does (which is normal) is fog up a bit after it's been in rain all day long. A dry day and it is all better again. It's a significant upgrade compared to the halogen bulb.

This one also has low+high when the highs are on. Lows run all the time.
