Default Advice on Handlebars

I know there have been numerous threads on handlebars and I have searched them, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I just bought a 2005 XLC. Now its time to make it fit me. I found the mirrors too close in and don't give good visability, and bars are just a little too far away for comfort. so I want to change them out to meet the following criteria.

1. Must be wider so mirrors are further out and give better visability
2. Must be closer so I don;t get lower back pain
3. Hopefully I don't have to change out wires
4. I like the look of the old sportster pull backs

Any suggestions on Harley part #s to use.

I have the Buckhorns and like them. They are a bit more pulled back than other handlebars. I think they are very comfortable.

TimC, I know where you come for, try to answer your questions here. Compare to your RKC, I believe the rear mirror view is a bit narrower, different risers and handlebar, You can try a pair of different mirror but I doubt it will help. You already have pullback riser, if you want to bring the bar even closer, look for buckhorn or mini ape. If you are going that route, you have to change your clutch, throttle cables and wires extension. Some after market seat will bring you forward by an inch, do a search.

Anybody try the buckhorn kit on a 2005 1200 Custom. The Harley website says its only for 883s 96-03 and not 883 customs
