Help with p0122 code throttle position sensor

Default Help with p0122 code throttle position sensor
I have a 09 iron 833. And my engine light came on with the code of p0122 for the throttle position sensor. I buy a new one install it and the light goes off. I leave it on for about 5 min than the code and the light comes back on. Did I do something wrong skip a step? What can I do to fix it. Thanks

clean your throttle body and adjust/lube your throttle/idle cables. did you clean your TPS connections with e.contact cleaner?



unlikey cause but, clean contacts are goooood

I didn't clean anything what exactly was I suppose to clean. The instructions the dealer gave me didn't say I should clean anything

the terminal(wire end) you plugged your TPS into (again, likely not the cause) and your throttle body... behind your air cleaner.





the part may not have been bad, just dirt/oil and build up in the throttle body, causing the sensor to throw bad readings. i'm pretty sure you didn't install the TPS incorrectly, that would take some serious effort to mess up.

So just Uninstall the sensor clean the inside and lube it up? That should fix it? And if not?

no no, unplug the wire. clean contacts. no need to remove the tps.

throttle body is more labor intensive.

do you know how to clear your codes?

throttle body cleaner and a tooth brush

you will not find that above or this stuff below in the service manual:













wiggle test, lol

Also my throttle gets stuck at times could that have anything to do with it
