I ran the Straight Shots with the pre-installed baffles and they were ... ok. I read on here that others have put in the quiet baffles to help give it some back pressure and reported better sound and slight performance increase. I tried them out and agree with those claims.
Rarely do I ever go wide open. Low rpm is where I'd like to see improvements, where I can use it.
Just from my experience AND OPINION with Python shot guns, when you look at the quite baffles, in comparison the the original stock exhaust with a cross over pulling the exhaust and both cylinders using both mufflers that have two stages over 12 long holed baffle system, quite baffles by V&H that Python calls for are like plugging the exhaust from an engineering standpoint.
Hang on to your OEM stuff. I ended up and got really lucky by getting a brand new take off of a TC96 for just about just shipping. It was actually better the the old style crossover that came OEM on the Deuce and Fatboys of by gone eerie.

Theres nothing wrong with running stupid, silly pipes. There is something wrong with running them and getting panty twisted [about]performance. Cant really have it both ways.
i love my grendes but, they are theater pipes. The stock 2-2 were probably better.
This all really just comes down to personal preference. I consciously purchased a Harley knowing that its a Harley and that they're not built for 'performance'. If I was worried about squeezing every 1/4" of performance out of it and comparing apples to oranges then I wouldn't of bought a Harley.

I've been keeping an eye out for a set of OEM mufflers just to give them a shot. Someone has a set on our for sale page, just asking a bit much.

If you were to ride two identical bikes, one with a showy custom exhaust and the other with a 'performance' exhaust, both of them properly set-up, you would be in doubt which one is the nicest to ride.

Keep looking, I got these from CA few years back (came in a huge professional packed bubble wrap peanut filled box) all the way to East coast in Hampton for $40 for the complete new system off ebay. Am sure people put them on the street trash all the time.
