Dallas to Atlanta is 781 miles,
Atlanta to Myrtle Beach is 363 miles
then back to Dallas is 1142 miles. Total of 2286 miles.

We are leaving from Va Beach and heading back there after Myrtle Beach so our miles are
610 to Atlanta
then 363 miles to Myrtle Beach
and 347 miles back to va Beach. Total of 1320 miles

Seems like a bit of a tough choice in a way. I have not been riding down there yet, but a friend of mine went to more the Fredericksburg area. They actually have a hotel around there that is for motorcycles only and my friend said it was great riding. He and I did a run up to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and I can highly recommend that trip. Riding around the Ozarks up there is fantastic, and there are a few runs up there that the atlas they gave me when buying my Sportster listed and good to do. If you want some nice twists and turns, a small town atmosphere, a lot of motorcycles, and a few caves to explore I recommend it. Then again, I believe Texas hill country offers much of the same.

The one plus is that I think the run up 69 through Oklahoma is a little nicer than the run down 35 to Austin. Since it sounds like you have some time, you could go the slightly longer route up through Arkansas rather than Oklahoma. In any case, hopefully whatever place you go it's a great trip. I know the feeling of just wanting to get the hell out of here. Even with a chilly ride up to Eureka Springs, the trip was fantastic and it was great just to put 2 wheels to the highway and ride.
