Default Right peg won't stop spinning?!

98 Sporty, my right peg perch won't stop turning. Not a big deal until I go to put my foot down on the peg and the peg folds downward toward the ground. The perch bolts thru the sprocket cover and there isn't any obvious fix - do I need to remove sprocket cover? What's going on?

I'm not real familiar with that setup but it sounds like you need to tighten it up!

This should probably be a "Sticky" (if they did those anymore)

If your peg is turning such that it can fold down, your clevis isn't attached right and should be falling off. If you can't see how that's happening, start taking it apart until you see the problem.

Yes, you need to remove the sprocket cover. There is a nut on the other side that holds the footpeg mount. Not the greatest design, just make sure to use loctite and position it correctly before you tighten the nut. I had to replace the cover many years ago, but it has never loosened up on me.

Talking Pegs

That would be unsettling. I've taken off with my pegs folded up - by accident and it can be dangerous not having something solid under your feet ! In fact I got some pegs that are flat on top and if the allen bolt in the end is loose they will spin too, but it doesn't sound like that is your issue.
