I ride nights and weekends...impossible to commute with the OL back and forth to on the bike. I'd need an Ultra just to hold all the crap that usually makes the commute with us in the cage...

My commute to work is about 4 1/2 miles each way. If it weren't for the killer hills I'd probably walk it.

Take the bike once in a while, but it feels like I'm just getting ready to ride, and I 'm at work already.

I ride whenever it isn’t snowing, heavy rains (light rain is ok), or if I need my truck that day for something. And yes, I do ride in 30 degree weather. A bonus is the motorcycle parking pad is right close to the front door ;-)

DFW area.. .These people need to trythe joys of commuting during the week..
I wasnervous riding in DFW rush hour traffic ina 3/4 tontruck, I can't imagine doing it on a motorcycle. The "$30,000 millionaires" always seem to be in a hurry and on the cell phone.

I've always lived in small towns. Maybe I'd feel more comfortable doing it once I got used to big city traffic.

I only have toride with the Ft.Worth idiots...Dallas I may think twice about communting if it was a bad traffic area full of people texting while driving..
This week is starting out with alot of motorcycles on the road... I think the rain has been holding people off. Seen alot of old metrics..think people are dusting off the old bike and getting them running.
I even saw a guy who appeared broke down in a parking lot, he had an old Kawasaki (appeared in nice shape for the age) I guessed he was kicking the cobb webs out of it and it kicked back.

I stand corrected..today was the first true warm weather, rain free day in a long time and I counted 10 bikes commuting on my 7 mile ride into work.. By the way my 7 mile commute is the shortest I have ever had in my life, since I just got moved into my new place. Two thumbs up..I was glad to see more riders!

My daily "commute" involves going through the den, living room, entry foyer, up the stairs and through the central retreat into my office. I did consider riding my bike to work one day, but the wife balked when I started into the kitchen from the garage. [sm=lol.gif]

The good news is, I'm usually finished for the day by 10:00 am. Then as long as it's no colder than 15 or hotter than 115 and no heavy rain or snow, I'm riding. I'm certainly not worried about how many miles I put on the bike. I've had the bike for 14 months, and it has almost 18,000 miles.

I believepeopleonly see bikesas toys. I believe that the more of a presence of motorcycles during the weekmayhelp peopleto realize that bikes are also transportation, just like cars.
My bike is a toy. I work in downtown Manhattan and take public trans everyday. By the time I get home I'm usually exhausted and I'll take the occassional ride, but only when my 2 kids are asleep lol. But come the weekend, I get to sit back, ride and unwind. Yep, that's what it's about for me.

I commute 72 miles each way to work. I take the bike maybe one day a week to get my sanity back. With that being said, I sure enjoy turning the heat up when it is a little cold out andthe A/C in the summer. A little music to ease my day helps too! I use the bike mostly on weekends when the club heads out on a ride. Twenty years agoI rode my bikes everywhere though.
