Default cornering question

I've been enjoying my 04 XL1200C for a couple years but get frustrated when I try to take a turn (maybe a little quick, but not dangerously fast) and scrape the bottom of my screaming eagle exhaust, it's actually the screws below the exhaust. Does anyone have any clearance problems when leaning and turning the bike? How can I have this resolved so I don't have to worry about limiting my speed around turns?

Any advice would be appreciated...thanks

If you have fun while riding the bike, you're gonna drag parts from time to time. I just don't worry about it. It's on the bottom, nobody will see it. If they do, they'll know you ride the thing.

There is a fee for riding on the road... chrome deposits. I do it all the time on the 1200L... not to worried because of why SportyPig said- they'll know I ride it + its at the bottom of the pipes.

I did it during the MSF course and the instructors just smiled. The bigger cruisers were having a little difficulty while the Sporty does what she does... be sporty. She's meant to sling around and dig into turns.

I've had the same "problem" with several of my sportsters. Unless your a fanantic about your bike, and I have friends that are, just enjoy the ride. As previously stated, digging into corners is half the fun.

Agree as above. As long as you are in control, it will happen. Just bare with it when it happens. Be aware that it will happen. Enjoy the lean.

It's one of the penaltiesfor riding a Harley. If you don't want to scrape, you will have to get a different kind of bike.
