Hey everybody! I just picked up a 2007 Nightster. I just ordered a set of V&H Short Shots for it and I'm wondering how necessary it is to order the Fuelpak FP3? Will I be ok riding it for a while until I can afford to buy one, or will I burn the engine up due to it being too lean? I don't usually ride for more than 1-2 hours at a time. Thanks in advance for the help!

You should be just fine with the the stock mapping. The stock map should easily adjust for the change in exhaust.
Got them put on tonight. I can't say I notice much of a difference at all putting around town. Granted, I live in a two stoplight kind of town so I spend very little time at a low RPM/Speed. I would have to say I noticed it at higher speeds though. At 55 in 5th gear it doesn't seem to pull as hard as it did with stock pipes. I'm going to order the tuner in the next few days, it looks really cool!

With those pipes you will lose some mid range grunt because of the loss of the stock crossover pipe. I rarely use 5th below 60. Especially with straight pipes like you now have. That rpm range is exactly where you've lost power.
