Default Custom Chrome???

Has anyone had any custom chrome work done? I've been thinking about checking into having some of that done. Chrome Masters, that does most of the chrome work for OCC, is here in Nashville, so I suspect their quality would be pretty good. I've just never had any of that type of work done, and am curious if anyone here has experience with that.

If I remeber rightly quality chrome is done in 3 stages....copper then nickel and finally chrome....I have a nickel swinging arm on my other bike which I like....which I had done 25yr ago,and is as good as new.

I have a complete motorset for a Sportster that came back from a chrome house used by a top builder. It lives in a box in the garage.
I'd have to say it looks better than the HD chrome I haveon my bike.
I was told it would have been 12-15 hundred dollars had I had to pay for the work. Sure is nice to know people.

I just boxed it up, sent it off and three weeks later it came back all shiney. Rather painless for me.

We’ve had a bunch of items chromed locally – It’s worked very well at a lower cost then replacing – I will caution you about 2 things – Mounting holes or things that are a tight fit may have issues - We also had a few problems with things like the switch housings where things may need to be electrically grounded -

I hate that damn thing, it's only on the bike when I have to travel more than 50 miles at high interstate speeds. I have to do that because of a REALLY bad left elbow.

Custom chrome is fine. I don't believe that it is any cheaper, however. I made a part that only cost me 20 dollars. They wanted 100.00 to chrome it. (More than one local source). I finally just polished it up. I do have to avoid moisture for fear of rust setting in. Oh well.
