98 Evo Clutch Issues
I was driving at about 30mph and all of a sudden it felt like i dropped a gear. RPMs jumped, bike went sluggish. I found neutral, hit the kill switch and brought it to the side of the road.
My clutch lever was completely slack, however I was still able to move through the gears a little. Put it neutral, started it and it lept forward in gear. Put it back in neutral (confirmed N light) and tried again, again lept forward in gear. Got it towed back to my house.
The cable is fine. I popped it open and there was a fair amount of play in the ramp. I was thinking maybe it just got loose. Pulled it apart to check out the bearings etc. So far everything looks good. Put it back together, put some tension on the cable and now it feels normal, ramp snaps back into place.
However, I can still shift through gears without squeezing the lever. I put it neutral, start it and again, bam it leaps forward in gear.
That was a lot of typing but I wanted to be as detailed as possible....thoughts?
