Question Quick Release windshield too low

Hi - I just put a new Sport Compact quick release on my 2015 Sportster Super Low and I think it's about an inch too short. The brackets are as high as they can go. I'm thinking you can't return the windshield for the higher one but can you replace just the windshield?

Thanks!

I'm 6'2" and my windshield was to short also. I took the attaching hardware to a plexiglass company in St Augustine , Fl and they made me a custom windshield, mounted it on my attaching hardware and I installed it on my bike.
You might check to see if their is a company near you.

Just for reference, the typical recommended height for a standard windshield would place the top of the shield inline with your upper lip to the tip of your nose. Your vision should be over the shield, not through it.

You can get taller or shorter plastic that fits the stock hardware from lots of places. Memphis Shades, Cee Bailey and National Cycle off the top of my head. I know there are more.

I bought this one from Memphis Shades via Amazon that I used my existing hardware that came with the compact windshield. It looks tall, but I just put it on for trips. I use a National Cycle flyscreen for daily riding.

I have the taller one on my 2011 SuperLow. The metalwork is identical for both versions, so yes the taller blade will fit your hardware. You can confirm that by checking the installation instructions for yours, which covers both short and tall versions.

If you wait a few weeks LRS usually has holiday sales.

Just bought an '08 1200 Custom and it came with a brand spanking new quick release windscreen. Tried it the other day but the buffeting is horrendous. I like the ride in the clean air far better than behind that windscreen so was going to sell it, but now that I read this maybe i will look into a higher screen

There is a fine line between too little windshield and just right! Check the H-D website to see which version you have, one is oval and shorter than the other, which is more egg-shaped. My egg-shaped one is perfectly good for up to 90mph, although I do routinely wear ear plugs.
