I have a 2008 Harley Davidson Roadster 1200. Ran battery dead and recharged, now the bike will not prime. Cranks but wont fire. Will a bad battery cause this issue?
If it will crank I would think you have enough voltage to run the fuel pump.\First check your fuses, there is a fuse for the ignition (your plugs would likely be wet if this fuse is blown)
I believe you will have two relays on the 2008, one for the starter and the other for the Fuel pump.
Try switching your two relays and see if you get the fuel pump to run but are not able to crank the engine. If that happens you need to replace the bad relay.
With the IGN ON and the engine stop switch at RUN, the ECM
will energize the system relay to complete the circuit to the
intank fuel pump. It will remain on as long as the engine is
cranking or running and the ECM is receiving ignition reference
pulses from the CKP sensor.
