ok, so i went on a poker run yesterday and rode the whole thing with no problem. Then i came home to freshin up for an after-party,which took all of about 10 minutes, and went back to my bike to start it up and all it did was crank, with no fire, and crank and crank and crank, finally i gave up and took the car. i have been told a couple things could be wrong. #1 crank position sensor. #2 run/off switch has been know to go bad ??? im not real sure on either but hope someone on here can HELP!!! thanks guys
Does the Fuel pump whine when you switch the run switch on? Did you check the fuses? I'd Check the Fuel Pump Fuse and the ECM fuse. If either is blown replace and try again. If you blow the fuse again, i'd start with the fuel pack, make sure connection is solid or remove it and see if the bike will start. good luck.
battery at rest with no load should be 12.7 which reflects a full charge. 12.4 is a 60% charge. bike will turn, but voltage drop often prevents correct fuel pressure and ignition spark.
a) fuel pressure
b) spark
c) compression
d) sync of the 3

If you cleaned your nice chrome fule line connection to the tank she may have come loose its a quick disconnect and of not fully engaged she will not fire eiter.
my bike did the samething two months ago....... crankshaft sensor was bad it was a $57 part and two min fix
see mine did that about a year ago and my dealer told me they could find nothing wrong, i told them to please check the crank position sensor and they did and it turn out it was bad so they replaced it and wolla fixed it,but it now only does it randomly, yes the fuel pump whines, yes the fuel line is connected, but the battery is original to the bike (07), but the battery guage shows it is in operating range soooo im not sure what to do. Oh and when i went out this morning to check it again it fired right up with no problem.
My 09 Ultra done the same thing a couple weeks ago at a Bike Night ride. It was the E C M fuze that poped. You will not hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key on, letting you believe it could be something else. Check your fuzes.
but the battery guage shows it is in operating range
the battery gauge on the bike is not very accurate. you need a volt meter. with the ignition key out, check your batt voltage, then look it up on the attached battery voltage vs state of charge chart. if the battery is original, I;m not expecting it to show at very high state of charge at rest. 12.55V at rest is min good and thats an 80% charge state. 12.25v at rest is a 50% charge state and not very good. keep us posted.

see when i turn on the ignition i hear the fuel pump so its not a fuse, but im thinkin since its 2011 and my bike is a 2007 and it has the original battery that it might be the battery dropping a cell at random, idk, just weird that it does it then i go out an hour or so later and it fires right up without doin anything...weird
