hi all
new to the forums and new to harleys, just picked up a 2003 1200c with only 400 mls on the clock. the previous owner had neglected the bike and quite a bit of chrome is lifting off the engine cases.i have managed to source some more and im getting them powder coated, but would like to know if its quite straight forward to take the cases off and put new ones on,is there anything to look out for?
Not much to it. Just make sure you unbolt everything that needs to be unbolted before yanking them off. After the gasket seal is broken free, the cases should slide right off, if not, you probly forgot to unbolt something. I always see poeple who try to pull the cam side case off without removing the timing cover to unbolt it from the cam shaft.
