Default Bogging down

I was out riding this afternoon when my ride started bogging down.I would give it more gas and it would carb fart and hesitate. Then I came toa light and pulled in the clutch and it died.It had a hard time starting but it did.I got it home and it did it once more on the way.But in the driveway it idled for 10 minutes with no problems.I'm hoping maybe just the fuel filter? To my knowledge it hasn't been replaced.Or bad gas?anyone have an idea of the problem? Thanks for any/all help

To my knowledge, there is no gas filter - just a strainer around the inside of the petcock. Drain your tank and shine a BRIGHT light in there and see if you can see any foreign matter. I doubt that you will, but it's a first step. You may get lucky and find someone opened your tank and put someting in it.Someone didthatto me back in the early 1990's on a Honda I had...

It could be several things. My first suggestion (almost always) is to see if any error codes have been set.

Check all your electricalconnections first!!!!I'd check yourspark plugs & wires/battery wires/coil wires/etc....before I drain the tank.I had a similar problemjusta few weeks ago, and it turned out to be the batterywires being loose less than a 1/16th on an inch. I started a thread on it a while ago.Startwith the easier stuff first. I thought it could have been a filter at first too, but there's only a strainer....I'm thinking i"m going toinstall one of those inline filters for my own piece of mind.

I checked the battery and its fine.I checked the electrical connections and they seem fine.So I took the spark plugs out and the front is good, but the rear plug was all wet and greasy, oily? Why would it be that way? I have checked them many timesbefore and they were always fine. This is the first time I have ever seen anything wrong with them.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Swop the plugs around.....to see if you have a duff plug.

Check to see if you have a spark at the plug...take the plug out,put it in the lead and place the electode against a part of the engine case and turn the engine over......best done in a dark garage.....or if your feeling brave put your hand in there, and see if you get a shock[&:]

I took it for a test ride and I didn't make it around the block before it died.I couldn't get it to start so I started to push it.I got a little ways and it started.I got back to my street and it died again.Good thing I was close to home so I just coasted to my driveway. It wouldn't start for about 5 minutes. Then it started like nothing was wrong.I pulled the plugs and checked the spark and they both had spark. This is confusing the hell outta me.
