I think I have the answer. Aside from any wiring problems. What will melt the Negative Terminal. When someone replaces a battery, or disconnects a good one, and loses the original battery bolts, or washers. If the spacers, bolts, or washers get lost you may be tempted to ... Make your own from a box of stuff. If one of the spacers or washers or nuts or bolts are made from a non conductive friendly material like stainless steel, or anything non magnetic, execpt copper or bronze, You will get resistance to the terminal connection, which will heat-up and melt the terminal. One electricly risistant hard AF stainless washer in the stack, and the amps only go through the bolt, and will melt the terminal.

I don't need a reference to a sales company. I was just pointing out that the problem is, heat resistence in the fasteners and spacers. A stainless steel spacer will cause the terminal to heat up like a lightbulb and melt the teminal. The spacers and washers and stuff are always getting dropped and bounced away. So if you cant find it, and use the wrong type of metal .. It will melt the negative terminalon the battery. The return amperage has to force past the resistance, it heats up.
