Can anyone tell me If I bought these bars will it be a straight forward swap with my factory 1200N bars.
I dont much like a supprise that will put my bike down for a week or two for some special order bracket bolt or cable.
Basically someone with some knowledge take a look at the specs of these bars and tell my if I can just swap my OEM nightster bars over and all controls cables ect will I need anything else as far as parts go?
I was thinking of getting the same bars for mine, I asked the dealership and they couldn't answer me for some reason. If you do decide to do it please send me some pics once it is done.
I have seen others with these types of z-bars and none have mentioned swapping cables, etc. I was able to go to a 32" wide drag bar (about 5" longer than the stock dbs) without any cable probs. I just cut the original zip-tie type clamps got everything installed and re-zipped everything up.
As a heads up, people have had good and BAD experiences with American Classic in the past. From what I've heard, it's kind of hit and miss with these guys.
It looks good on you Nightster for sure, for the Z-bar, you have to measure the stock riser height from the top triple tree to the handlebar, if they sit at the same height or within an inch, I can't see why not using the same throttle and clutch cables. A lot of time you can get away from cables replacement unless you go ape hanger, 10 out of 10, cables have to be changed.
