Default Nightster Mid-Glide?

I’ve got an 07 Nightster with a salvage title that I’m trying to do a budget build on.

The steering stops on the lower triple tree are broken. I’m thinking I would like to run a 120/70/21 tire on a 3.25-3.5 wide rim. I believe this would require a mid glide tree due to the width. Since I’m replacing the trees anyway, I figured cost wise mid or narrow isn’t going to be much different. So I might as well go with the mid.

So, does anyone know what model and years Harley offered a mid glide that would work with the 39mm forks for a Sportster? If anyone has done something similar that has any tips or advice for
me please chime in. I really don’t want to go with new as I’m trying to keep the cost down. Thanks in advance! A really confused Nightster.
Amongst my friends, this is commonly known as The Wolf.

  • 2010 - 2015 48:
    1. mid glide,
    2. 39mm forks,
    3. integrated risers on upper triple tree
    4. no headlight brow adapter mounts
    5. lower trees have hole for headlight mounting
    p/n: upper 46009-10 / lower 46014-10

  • 2011- current (2018) 883 super low\1200t:
    1. mid glide,
    2. 39mm forks,
    3. integrated risers on upper triple tree
    4. narrow glide headlight brow adapter mounts
    5. lower trees do not have hole for headlight mounting (doesn't mean you can't add one)
    p/n: upper 46997-11 / lower 46998-11

  • 2011-current 1200 custom:
    1. mid glide,
    2. 39mm forks,
    3. non-integrated risers on upper triple tree,
    4. wider than narrow glide headlight brow adapter mounts
    5. lower trees have hole for headlight mounting
    p/n: upper 49419-11 / lower 49422-11

i noted the integrated risers because they complicate (not disallow) moving around bars and, in some cases, limit bar options since they are fixed a 1" clamping area diameter. there are workarounds but, unless you want really low positions allowed by those clamps... the 2011-current 1200 trees off to the most freedom.

I left out colors because you can do whatever you want there. 48's are typically black, custom and superlow/t are typically chrome or polished aluminium.

all that said, i have a black 2011+ 1200 custom trees if you want them. you'll need to space your rotor(cleaner looking) or your caliper too.

you can run a 120/xx-21 om a 2.5+ rim: https://www.blogotive.com/wp-content...Tires-Size.pdf

long thread of nonsense here but, i went mid on my 883 from narrow while adding midglide wheels.: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...wheel-p-n.html

Thank you so much! That’s the best info that I’ve found yet!

I read the word "Nightster" and then I'm looking at the pics sayin' ...Huh?

And then I see the easily overlooked statement...

In case you missed it in Cvaria's post, he has a set of black 39mm midglide Trees

Thank you! When I first saw this bike knowing it was a Nightster, it took me a while to try and sort out what happened to it. It appears that it was a theft recovery that was rebuilt using a lot of 1200c parts that must’ve been leftover from someone’s project. I’m gonna try to make it my own more in the vein of the original Nightster.
