Default wheels

Hi all
I own a 2017 sportster 1200 custom bought new in July while cleaning the rear wheel I notice tiny pips on the chrome, which on closer examination turn out to be the chrome flaking off. Took some pictures and showed my local Harley dealer who said "The harley warranty don't cover wheels but will submit your claim" then wait and see, If this is the case I'm now stuck with it and no easy course of action. I was'nt told this when I was sold the bike, infact was told it had 2 years warranty and recovery if I break down, so not to worry about anthing.

you are not alone.

@op. Nothing you can do but wait. Well, you could write a letter to HD. If the dont respond well.. take it to social media and blast it.

on the flip side. Stock wheels don't cost that much.

When the chrome fails after 6 mounths, just paint everything black instead of improving the chroming prosses, hence the 2018 models seems to be the harley fix.
I will update when I hear back from them.
As for replacing the wheels on a 6 mounth old bike, I would love a pair of those polished alloys please at £2,000 ish lmao..

If it bothers you that much, why not just get the wheel re-chromed? It's cheaper than a new factory wheel. Or look for a nice used wheel.

I understand you shouldn't have to do any of this but if they won't cover it, then they won't cover it.
