Default Screaming Eagle

im trying to put a screaming eagle air intake on my bike. Went up to HD dealership and it would cost about $1000 total including parts to do it because they have to hook it up to a dyno and I have to get it re-tuned. If I buy the screaming eagle tuner and the intake myself can’t I just hook it up or do they do special stuff for it? Really don’t wanna spend $1000 just for an air breather.

Holy ****, $1000? That's insane. If you're only doing an air cleaner and not exhaust I would say you should be good with doing it yourself and without a tune. What year bike is it? Fuel Injected or carb?

Get the intake you want and pick up a fuel pack 3. You'll save a bunch of money that way if you're being budget conscious.

I don't think $1000 is unreasonable; Hell, pc5 and dynotune combo is almost $600 around where I live. Throw in an intake for another $250 and labor.

They are correct that an intake requires a tune, but you don't necessarily have to spend $1000. Actually, considering the cost of the parts, dyno tune, and labor, $1000 isn't far off for a Harley dealer.

You would be best off buying the intake from Surdyke, installing it yourself, and tuning your bike with a Dynojet or FP3. Chcek out FuelMoto if you want to go the Dynojet route, since they can provide you with tunes after purchase. If you go the FP3 route, I bought mine off eBay for $300. FP3's need to be purchased new because they marry to the VIN on the first use. If you buy a Dynojet Powervision, new would be best but you can buy an additional license if you find one used.

Forget the Dreaming Eagle parts, talk to DK customs (a site sponsor), they can tell you exactly what you need and set you up with an air cleaner that actually improves performance and routes the blow by away from the engine plus a programer.
They have excellent "stage one" information on their web page that explains everything.

Powervision and TTS mastertune are much better fuel management systems that will too allow you to grow further if you so choose. I prefer the powervision of the two I mentioned .

Powervision or TTS... It's up to your preferences, or rather your tuners preferences.

It would actually be $900 in just parts and then labor after that. So do I have to take it to HD or will the tuner tune itself after riding it?
