Breather venting
I consider the oval shaped air cleaner kind of an iconic part of the Sportster and that's why I wanted to stay with it.

Very important is HOW the air is organized...how it flows, once it is past the filtering element.
The V-Stack will flow better than many round or oval set-ups, and MUCH better than stock, even better than the stock box with a K&N filter element, but not as well as the 425, 587 or 606...nor as well as some other good aftermarket A/C's.
MOST engines will produce more power with a free flowing air cleaner on them than if there is nothing...just the open throttle body or carb.
The 636v has a particular advantage because of the patented shape of the intake tube which produces a Venturi Effect, increasing the Velocity of the air entering the carb/throttle body.
When we first tested the 636v, ourselves AND the dyno operator thought something must be wrong with the dyno....we did quite a few retests, along with testing other forward facing A/C's.
Below is a comparison of the best runs of each of 4 different forward facing A/C's.
