Sorry guys need some feedback on my nightster . I have Vance and Hines shortshots on my bike and i know its running lean .They are lean from the factory and the short pipes only made it worse i have a stock ham can air cleaner.
The bike has the surge at constant light throttle which is due to the lean condition but my question is the vibration and overall feeling of the motor . it almost feels violent, can anybody verify that when i get my FP3 ordered and installed will it feel smoother with less vibration.
I know sportster shake and make noise and vibrate but mine is excessive . just hoping someone can give me some feedback. Im hoping that the tuner will calm it down and overall make it run smoother and more comfortable during normal riding.
On my 2012 48 it came with XIED's installed by the previous owner (2K+ miles on it at time of purchase). I never knew much about them, but after 8K plus miles, they worked great. I was living in Georgia at the time and rode it in 30 degree to 100+ degree weather. It ran perfect. Bike had Rush 2.5" Slip-ons, and a Big Sucker.
The FP3 will make it run better but it's still going to vibrate and shake a lot. The surging at light throttle is because these motors don't like low rpms. Anything around 2k and under will buck n surge. Short shots are great at WOT,..but that's about it.
