I have a 2014 Sporster 1200 C with less than 10k miles. It very often will not start if it has been sitting idle for more than 4 days. Sometimes it will work, but mostly it doesnt. I have changed the battery and taken proper care of it and I am still dealing with this problem. At this point the only thing I can think of is that I have a phone charger hooked up and that is still pulling from the battery even when the bike is turned off. But idk. Its annoying because its not a old bike and hasnt been in a crash. Can anyone help?
Take in the battery and have it tested, that can at least eliminate that as a possible contender. Even though its a newer battery, all those complete discharges could have ruined it. Once you eliminate that as a possible problem, i would unhook the only other non-factory thing you noted (the cell charger) and see if that solved it. Then at least you know if its something at issue with the factory components or not
I have the same problem. I had to cut the siren wire off because it keeps getting so low that the alarm thinks someone's disconnecting the battery. I need to use a tender if I don't use the bike for more that three days. But most of the time, when I realize I won't use the bike, it's too late and battery is dead.
I bought a portable battery to jump start it. Then I can bring it with me if the bike don't charge fully while riding it.
