I cannot remember how my bike drove when I bought it and I have no other frame of reference.
2013 Sportster Custom 1200. I recently put new tires "Dunlop D402" on my bike and I am surprise at how easy it turns. Before I changed the tires I did a great deal of counter steering but now it seems all I have to do is lean into the curve to go where I want. Its almost as if the tires have more curve on them. My old tires were stock from the purchase and had about 11,000 miles on them. Is this normal because the tires are new or am I imagining something. Thanks in advance for reading and responding.
Different tires do have different profiles which affects how the bike feels, for sure. I’m new to HD from a sport bike which is my only frame of reference so far, but I definitely felt differences when I changed brands on it...easier/more willing to tip in and just a more agile feeling overall.
scrubbing off the release agent will change things a little.......but the old tires probably had a flat contour on the bottom......going to a new tire it has a good rounded edge to it......so it does get into corning a little easier.
